ALAMEDA COUNTY

The Urban League of Greater San Francisco Bay Area

We empower Bay Area African Americans and underserved communities to achieve their highest true social parity, economic self-reliance, power, and civil rights. The League promotes economic empowerment through education, job training, housing, community development, workforce development, leadership programs, entrepreneurship, health, sustainability, and quality of life.

The Social Engineering Project, Inc. ("TSEP") is an Oakland-based, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt social impact venture with Stanford University designed to address the lack of diversity in the tech industry through culturally relevant STEM pipeline programs for underrepresented students of color that lead to technical career pathways.

There’s a new creative hub blossoming between auto shops and construction businesses in San Francisco’s Bayview-Hunters Point. On a recent afternoon, Hip Hop For Change’s education director Marlon Richardson beams with excitement as he walks us through the 1,200-square-foot studio, which will soon come alive with possibilities: a recording space for music and podcasts; a lighting set-up for photography and video shoots; a screen-printing press for artist merch.

Kids Teach Tech empowers youth to seize the technology opportunities of their future. We enable students to become teachers who create and teach classes for their community. We teach free classes to youth in libraries, schools, non-profit groups, and live-online across California, the United States, and now Internationally.
